Pre-departure professional, civics and language training

With the decree 9 January 2019 of the Director General of Immigration and Integration Policies of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies, AMIF Delegated Authority, the Call for proposals 2/2019 has been published for submission of projects to be financed under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund 2014-2020 - SO2 Integration / Legal Migration - NO1 Legal Migration - Pre-departure professional, civics and language training projects concerning entry into Italy for subordinate work, professional training and family reunification reasons.

The Call for proposals 2/2019, with a budget of 3 million euros, aims to promote pre-departure training and orientation activities for the entry into Italy of third-country nationals for family reunification, subordinate work and traineeship reasons. The main objective is to promote professional training, learning of Italian language (basic level), essential notions of civic education and legislation on health and safety in the workplace. Specific civics and language orientation and information activities are also provided for third-country nationals who are about to entry Italy for family reunification.

The activities must be carried out in the territories of one or more third Countries, especially those Countries that signed specific bilateral agreements with the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies aimed at managing migration flows and developing bilateral cooperation pursuant to art. 21 of Legislative Decree no. 286/98 (Consolidated Law on Immigration), the Countries of origin of the 16 most numerous migrant communities in Italy, about which the Directorate General for Immigration and Integration Policies publishes the "Annual Reports on Migrant Communities in Italy", and the Countries identified in art. 4 of the Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers of 15 December 2017 "Transitional planning of entry flows of non-EU workers into the territory of the State for the year 2018".

With the Decree no. 146 of 16 December 2019 of the Director General of Immigration and Integration Policies of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies, AMIF Delegated Authority, the list of the project submitted was published and the first two projects have been eligible for funding.

With Decree no. 3 of 10 February 2020 of the Director General of Immigration and Integration Policies of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies, the budget of the AMIF Call for proposals 2/2019 has been increased and nine more projects have been eligible for funding.

With the Decree no. 39 of 15 June 2020 of the Director General of Immigration and Integration Policies of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies, the implementation period of the project activities has been extended from 31 December 2021 to 30 September 2023.
