A meeting promoted by the General Directorate of Immigration - May 20, 2021
Promoting a dialogue with the Foreign Communities in Italy and spreading the knowledge of the projects carried out by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies.This is the main goal of the series of meetings with foreign communities in Italy, the most relevant for number and migration history, started in September 2020 with the Moldovan community and promoted by the Directorate General of Immigration and Integration Policies.The meetings will involve the diasporic associations of the specific community and, at the same time, the Embassies of the respective countries in Italy. The direct confrontation with foreign associations in Italy, in addition to promoting the active participation of third-country nationals, favors the exchange of information and gives the opportunity to share emerging needs and experiences.This series of meetings intend, therefore, to promote the emergence of synergies between the various actors and encourage moments of exchange useful to understand the priorities of the diasporas and the initiatives of interest to support and / or develop in the countries of origin.The next meeting will be dedicated to the Albanian Community in Italy and will be held Thursday, May 20 from 16.00 to 18.00 via streaming on Microsoft Teams platform. Speakers will be: Tatiana Esposito, Director General of Immigration and Integration Policies; Roberto Mengoni, Advisor to the Directorate General for Italians Abroad and Migration Policies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; Stefania Congia, Head of the Unit “Social and work integration policies for migrants and foreign minors' protection" - Directorate General for Immigration; Anila Bitri, Ambassador of the Republic of Albania in Italy; Luljeta Cobanaj, Officer for Diaspora at the Consulate General of the Republic of Albania in Milan.
