Socio-labour inclusion of vulnerable migrants in the construction sector
The Pathways to Social and Labor Inclusion
The Pathways to Social and Labor Inclusion
Training in construction schools and work experiences, with tracking of skills acquired and inclusion of resumes in a national database
Social and labor inclusion pathways consist of
training courses at Construction Schools
coordinated by the joint body FORMEDIL and
practical experience
in companies. They typically last between 6 and 8 months.
Courses in construction schools, for small groups and relatively short (100 to 200 hours), involve theoretical lectures and, above all, laboratory activities. They typically consist of:
-Initial
reception and orientation
;
-Mandatory training on first-entry
safety at the worksite
;
-
Professionalizing training
, the contents of which are defined on the basis of what emerges from initial orientation and entry skills and according to the needs of the productive framework.
At the end of the courses, participants gain experience, through
traineeships or employment contracts
, at construction companies associated with employers' organizations, identified on the basis of actual labor needs and, therefore,
concrete employment prospects
. In some territories, work is also being done on the possibility of activating
professionalizing apprenticeships
for former unaccompanied minors.
The training carried out and the skills acquired are spendable in the national territory
,
also because they are tracked by inclusion in the
construction sector's training database
and the issuance of the corresponding
training booklet
. In addition, participants have access to all the free services of the National Construction Job Exchange ("
Borsa Lavoro Edile Nazionale
", a bilateral tool that facilitates the matching of labor supply and demand in the construction sector), such as the inclusion of the
curriculum vitae in the Blen.it database
and the support of specialized operators.
