The Refugee House. Guide to housing autonomy in Italy

Issued by Unhcr, Asgi and Sunia

UNHCR - the UN Refugee Agency, Associazione per gli Studi Giuridici sull’Immigrazione (ASGI) and Sindacato Unitario Nazionale Inquilini ed Assegnatari (SUNIA) publish today "The Refugee House. Guide to housing autonomy for beneficiaries of international protection in Italy".

Difficulties in accessing housing represent one of the main obstacles to inclusion for refugees. Being able to find a home, without being hindered by discriminatory measures and receiving adequate guidance, is a key step in building an effective autonomy path.

Available in Italian and English, the guide is aimed at refugee people and all organizations involved in support for housing integration. "The refugee house" collects timely information on access to "social housing" and on renting, with reference to the different contractual forms and the rights and duties of owners and tenants. Other sections are dedicated to specific protection tools against discrimination and to valuable insights on registration and residence.

The guide is available on the UNHCR, ASGI and SUNIA websites in ITA and ENG.
